PSAT / SAT / ACT

PSAT:
  • The PSAT is the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test.  It is a practice test for the SAT - one of the required college entrance exams, and is essential for those students who plan to attend a four year college after high school.  9th, 10th, and 11th grade students may take the PSAT - it is good practice, and has been shown to improve student scores on the SAT, because it shows students where their strengths and weaknesses lie.
  • For 11th grade students, the PSAT is also the qualifier for the National Merit Scholarship. The National Merit Scholarship is a national program that honors the top PSAT scores in the nation.
  • The test will be held in October during school hours from 7:50 to about 11:00 in the small gym.
  • Tickets for the PSAT can be purchased in the Career Center.
