Each year I have been blessed to watch my yearbook kids rise to such a high level of hard work, ethical behavior, design knowledge, problem solving, critical thinking and growing as a family. This past year was no exception. Our high school is unique in that our yearbooks are totally student created – from theme, to cover, to spreads and layouts, photos and text. We don’t use professional photographers for our sports photos, we don’t use pre-packaged theme ideas or use the yearbook artists to design our cover. Each year it seems like a miracle that we get it done by mid-March but whew….we seem to with grace and dignity and quite a lot of early mornings and late nights!
Congratulations to last year’s book for the following:
The 2015-2016 edition of The Rattler earned a First Place Award from the American Scholastic Press Association for our overall book, but earned special recognition for Content Presentation, Creativity, Photography and General Page Design!
We just were notified that our 2015-2016 Rattler earned another National Yearbook Award from Jostens! This is a highly coveted award that selects only the Best-of-The-Best from around the country to be included in their annual publication of the Look Book!
Our overall book design and layout was honored by being included in the Look-Book publication
We were earned a special highlight for one special photo in particular – taken by our very own Lucia Carluccio!
