  • CTE after High School:
    • Community Colleges offer a very wide variety of CTE courses
      • CTE programs do not require the usual General Education or college academic classes
      • CTE programs do issue a certificate at the end of the program to validate that skills were learned, and student is work ready with a specified skill set.
      • CTE at the Community College are real college curses, with real college credit - should a student wish to pursue an Associates Degree in the future, the CTE courses would count toward that degree.
      • CTE programs generally take somewhere between 1 to 2 years.  Average cost for a 2 year program would be around $3000 - without Financial Aid (a high percentage of students qualify for FA, which waives tuition cost of CTE programs)

    • Trade schools also offer CTE programs
      •  Program length is usually 1 to 2 years
      • Trade schools are easy to navigate- very straight forward in their programming
      • Average trade school costs are between $15,000 and $30,000 per program
      • CTE course work is generally not transferable to College units in the future
    • Adult Education programs offer CTE programs
      • Must be at least  18 to attend
      • Cheaper cost than Trade schools
      • Easier process than Community Colleges.
      • Courses do not earn college credit, but do earn a certificate of completion
      • Charles A Jones is a great CTE program in Sacramento
